• WWW Indices, Directories, and Searchers
  • Yahoo. Use the "Search" here first.
  • Alta Vista. Use this if Yahoo doesn't have it. It is essentially a keyword search of the web, so it's easy to get thousands of responses if the keywords are common.
  • W3 Search Engines. An old but still useful page.
  • WWW Virtual Library. Organizes the web like an encyclopedia.

  • Amiga: Aminet at wuarchive. Or, if that's busy, try Aminet at NetNet (The Amiga has the best organized distribution of freeware/shareware I know of for any computer. All of the major Amiga archives are Aminet sites-- they contain exactly the same software in exactly the same places.)
  • Macintosh: Info-Mac HyperArchive. For official Apple stuff, try info.apple.com.
